Discover Sandymoor Ormiston Academy at our Open Evening 

Choosing the right secondary school is an important decision, and sometimes the best way to know whether a school is right for your child is to experience it for yourself. We warmly invite Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and their families to join us for our Open Evening on Thursday 8 October 4:00pm – 7:00pm.

At Sandymoor Ormiston Academy, we are proud to be a smaller school where students are known as individuals and encouraged to believe that their dreams are within reach. We combine a broad and ambitious curriculum with a supportive, personalised environment designed to help every student achieve their potential. 

Our academy is about much more than lessons. Through enrichment, clubs, trips, social action and opportunities including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, we encourage students to discover new interests, build their confidence and develop the character and skills they will need for their future. 

During our Open Evening, prospective families will have the opportunity to: 

  • Explore the academy and our facilities. 
  • Meet our Principal, teachers and wider staff team. 
  • Find out more about our curriculum and enrichment opportunities. 
  • Take part in activities and experience different subject areas. 
  • Discover what life at Sandymoor is really like. 
  • Ask questions about transition and joining us in Year 7.
