Course outline
The Cambridge National qualification in Creative Media enables students to understand and
apply the fundamental principles and concepts of digital media – such as
• how media products get their meaning across, create impact and appeal to people
• how to create original digital graphics for specific audiences
• how to plan and create animations with audio
• creating, testing and making playable digital games
The course helps you to develop independence and confidence in using skills that would be
relevant to the media industry. The qualification will also help you to develop learning and
skills that can be used in other life and work situations. Students study key topics of creative
i-media in the media industry and digital graphics, and will also study animation and audio and
digital games

The digital world is overcoming many of the challenges we face as a society. For example, mobile apps that help people with hearing impairments to user-interfaces that meet the needs of customers. This course is designed to ensure our society is more equitable and accessible for all.
Within this course students are given opportunities to enrich their own life experiences whilst widening their perspectives on life and wider society by solving problems within a wide range of contexts. The ethics and legalities of media information technology are evaluated with the moral dilemmas of data and its uses being critically examined. Complex and contemporary issues regarding privacy are debated and considered.
